After graduating from the Faculty of Economy in Boğaziçi University, Özgür Altan has got a post-graduate degree in European Economy branch from EU Institute of Marmara University.

Starting his banking career in Yapı ve Kredi Bank in 1991, he has worked as a specialist in Koçbank payment systems division in 1995 and 1996.

Working on payment systems in Garanti BBVA organization since 1996, Özgür Altan is currently Assistant General Manager in charge of Sales Organizations and Merchant Services in Garanti Ödeme Sistemleri A.Ş.

Özgür Altan is married and has two children.
